Times Square: Ryze

Challenge
For the Solstice 2026 outdoor yoga event in Times Square, Ryze wanted to put the audience themselves on the most famous screens in the world. In collaboration with OUTFRONT Media, the brand secured a roadblock across Times Square's displays — every screen showing the activation simultaneously.
Hundreds of attendees needed a frictionless way to submit photos and responses from their phones, and every submission had to be vetted before appearing on screens watched by hundreds of thousands of passers-by.
Results
The implementation delivered exceptional results, transforming fan engagement and creating new revenue opportunities:
- Times Square Roadblock: attendee photos took over Times Square screens simultaneously in collaboration with OUTFRONT Media
- Custom Moderation Pipeline: every photo and response reviewed live before being shown
- Browser-native: attendees participated from their phones with no app download
- Audience as Content: the activation turned event attendees into the creative itself
Solution
Volta built a browser-native photo submission experience: attendees scanned a QR code, snapped a photo, and answered the prompt "What makes you happy?" — no app download required.
Every submission flowed through a custom moderation pipeline, with operators approving content in real time before release. From 5–6pm, the approved photos and responses were beamed out over Times Square across the full roadblock.
